Humash Native — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Humash Native app, also known as חומש קולי (the “App”), handles information. The App provides Hebrew Humash reading, Onkelos and Rashi content, audio playback, a Hebrew calendar, and optional zmanim calculations.

Information we collect

We do not intentionally collect personal information through the App. You can use the App without creating an account, providing your name or email address, or submitting content to us.

The App may process the following information locally on your device:

• App preferences and playback state: playback speed, reading position, and related settings may be saved locally so the App can remember your experience.
• Location, if you choose to allow it: the App may request approximate, in-use device location to calculate local zmanim (halachic times) and identify the general locality or time zone. This information is used for that calculation on the device and is not sent to us.
• Content and audio: the current release primarily uses content and audio packaged with the App. The App does not ask you to upload reading activity, audio, or other personal content.

How we use information

Locally processed information is used only to operate and improve the App’s features, such as resuming audio, applying your settings, showing the Hebrew calendar, and calculating zmanim for a selected date and location. We do not use this information for advertising or profiling.

Location permission

Location access is optional. If you deny it, the App’s reading, audio, and calendar features remain available, but location-based zmanim may not be available. You can change permission at any time in your device settings. The App requests location only while the relevant feature is being used; it does not request background location.

Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information. The current release does not use third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, social login, or tracking services. Apple or Google may process technical information as part of operating their app store and device platforms; those activities are governed by their own privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

Because the App does not maintain a user account or send personal data to us, we do not have an account record to delete. Local preferences and playback data can be removed by deleting the App or by using the device controls that clear the App’s data. Location permission can be withdrawn in device settings.

Children’s privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. It does not require an account and is not designed to collect personal information from users of any age.

Security

Information kept locally is protected by the security features of your device and operating system. No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features or data practices change. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the effective date above.
